National Signing Day
Canyon High School senior football players Hunter Thompson (Texas State) and Reeves Munschau (Oklahoma) signed letters of intent on National Signing Day. Munschau was a Unanimous All District Punter and Kicker (25-of-25 extra points, season long 48-yard field goal), while Thompson was an All-District Linebacker who had 109 tackles and six quarterback sacks in 2016.

"Reeves was a tremendous weapon for us this year," Moczygemba said. "He created many long fields for our opponents with his kicking and punting. He has a tremendous work ethic and will be very successful at Oklahoma. We will miss Reeves very much next year."
Moczygemba said Thompson, whose father Michael played football for the Bobcats in the 90s, will be a fine addition to the Texas State squad.
"Hunter will be hard to replace," he said. "He is a leader and a fine football player. Hunter will be successful at Texas State because of his work ethic and his drive to excel."
